Schizophrenia

Two or more of the following symptoms present for a significant portion of time during a month period or less if successfully treated. The individual must have at least one of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd symptoms and 3 additional symptoms listed.

  •    Delusions
  •     Hallucinations
  •     Disorganized speech ( frequent derailment or incoherence)
  •     Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior
  •     Negative Symptoms (diminished emotional expression or avolition)
  •     Interpersonal relations or self-care markedly affected


Continuous signs of disturbance persist for 6 months with at least 1 month of active symptoms during that time, with negative symptoms the rest of the time.


Does not meet the criteria for a diagnosis of Schizoaffective or Bipolar.
