Behavioral Manifestations in Alzheimer's Disease

Caring for a family member with a dementing illness as the illness progresses is an act of courage in itself. It takes a lot of patience, energy, commitment and precious time. When in addition to the memory and cognitive deficits they present with behavioral symptoms, such as:

  • Delusional thinking (false believes or paranoia)
  • Visual or auditory hallucinations (seen or talking to imaginary figures)
  • Agitation and verbal or physical aggression

The task can be overwhelming and there are no medications currently approved by the FDA to treat these symptoms. The medications used to treat these symptoms when necessary are not approved and FDA issued a black box warning about the potential dangers of using them in this population.

Quantum Clinical Research is conducting at least one clinical trial using an investigational drug currently been tested with FDA authorization to hopefully address this difficult condition to manage. If someone you love is suffering from any of these symptoms, please contact us for an appointment to determine potential eligibility to participate in a trial at no cost to the patient.
